about.

Welcome to read.write.link.
My name is Ellen, but I prefer my initials {elz}.
And I created this little space.

As a personal blogger, I have experienced things like:

+ my jaw dropping over skyrocketing google analytics stats
+ reading unexpected comments, eyes-wide-open-smiling-ear-to-ear
+ the exhilaration of:  being retweeted / facebook-liked
/ instagram-commented / pinterest-pinned / sidebar-highlighted.

But, I’ve realized these aren’t the things that really matter.

At one point, of course they did.
Let’s-be-serious-we-all-blog-because-we-like-to-talk-about-ourselves-just-a-little-bit.
But thankfully now we are past that honeymoon stage of numbers & statistics & the bigger biggest best game.

+ It’s because of the connections.
That means you there, the one reading this rosey-posey post.
 The only reason you are part of the blogging world is because you.want.to.be.
You & I will only interact if it’s mutual, otherwise, one of us just won’t reciprocate & that will be that.
We aren’t co-workers or neighbors or best-friends-since-preschool, so our paths probably will not otherwise cross.
+ It’s because of the community.
Again, you there.
I mean, I consider many of you my real friends.
Is that weird, since we haven’t met in real life?
What’s the definition of real life? I should probably check urban dictonary.
+ It’s because of the interactions.
The blogs you read, the posts you write,
the comments you make, the friendships you form,
are based on one thing: your choice.
When it’s mutual, it’s so much better, isn’t it?

Luckily, I’ve realized these are the things that really matter.
{also luckily, now  I’m done with this positive-patty talk}

My perception of ”what blogging is”, “what blogging means”, and “why i blog” has morphed ump-teen times.
Which is why read.write.link was born.
Because I’m excited for the ump-teenth-and-first time.
{ok. now I’m really done. promise.}
